Hello everyone. Around a week ago, my Nhandu carapoensis made a mat on the ground like it was preparing to molt. Me being the clumsy idiot I was, I went into its enclosure to clean and change its water dish. Its mat was connected to the water dish, so when I picked it up the mat got torn away. It has been a week now, and the T hasn't made a new mat, nor has it emerged from its hide, which I strange as I have rarely seen it use its hide before this. What should I do to make him relaxed again so it can molt properly?

Keep water available and that’s about it. The tarantula will molt when it’s ready and there’s no way to speed up or slow down the process.

On another note, it may not have been a molt mat you pulled up. My Nhuandu, Brachypelmas, Grammostola And Aphonopelmas all have basically the entirety of their substrate covered with a thin, invisible layer of web. It gets pulled up sometimes during maintenance, they fix it later. Nothing to worry about. Happy keeping!
