Not correct. Trading goods would be compensation. Its not just money. Its any compensation.

Not necessarily according to the response I got from the government. Still sounds like pushing it a bit far into iffy territory though.

Trading goods, like a carburetor, is the same as trading money in their eyes. Doesn't have to be cash or check for it to be "commerce". Personally, I would not test this theory.
