Pulled my Thrixopelma pruriens molt after a few days. Got a great picture after a soapy water bath. But I'm still confused. Anyone have any insight with these guys, that would be great. Like, do males also have those 2 black dots.... and a female would be more flap like?

Is the molt still spread out? Could you see if there is a flap? I use toothpicks to check.

Thrixopelma males have large accessory organs, which could make it look female. Look for that flap if you could. It should move right between the two black dots if it’s there.

Now that it's primarily dried up it seems like they're less prominent. I don't think i see a flap at all. Looks like I most likely have a dude on my hands.

When I enlarge your picture, I see a spermatheca. Thrixopelma female spermathecas are small and look exactly like in your picture. I think you have a female.

That would be interesting. I'm just under the assumption they are male. Would be a delightful surprise if female. I attempted to find a flap. I got nodda. One of the harder T's to sex for sure.

Didn't even need to click on the pic, you can spot the bursa copulatrix a mile off even in the thumbnail.
