Got a new tarantula

I just recently bought at a reptile expo a Mexican red knee sling, the 3rd tarantula in my collection. I've been wanting a red knee for yrs and so excited I finally got one. Can't wait to see this baby grow!!!

Congratulations on your new addition! a fantastic choice...but yes it will be years before it reaches adulthood....
@Rs50matt The Brachys take a very long time as you know to grow(well most brachys) but not as long as your H.chilensis!

It's dependant on temperactures, sex , how often it eats ect but maybe next molt if not in 2 you'll definitely start seeing colours come through.

Shes 6 years old...had her from eggs with legs. Shes only 5" and not fully grown yet. She still has a few years to go. But they can live 30 plus years so that a huge plus.

No,the only other one I grew from a sling is a B. Vegans which turned out to b a female,so happy about that will have to check out that species u mentioned

Mine is almost 3 years old and just now starting to show red (more like pink) on the legs. Just molted and molt measured at 2". Hoping mine's a female too. Will be asking the experts as soon as I get a good picture.

Mine is just over an inch and had "pink" knees after it's last molt.
