Hello all.

I recently bought a sub adult female Goliath birth eater. I am just wondering what would be the best size enclosure for her. Im thinking about putting her in a 10 gallon for a few more molt or should I just put her in a 20 gallon already? She is often in her burrow or is hiding but somewhat recently she’s been out and about. I know she is going to get bigger so I am really thinking about putting her in a 20 so it’s less stress for the both of us. If you think she’ll need bigger please feel free to let me know.

Thanks.

I'm afraid 10 or 20 Gallon means nothing to me as there can be so many variations in size.
I keep my adult female in a 24x10x10" container if that helps you decide.

Great choice of Ts. Ive had several. Best to use the scientific name to a avoid confusion. Im guessing you have a Theraphosa blondi or stirmi. Ive kept a Theraphosa stirmi in a 20g long before and it worked great. ( It was 5" when I put it in there and was 9.5 when I moved it to a front opening tank. Make sure the top is well ventilated. without side vents you need more on top. Also watch your "fall heght" you should build up the substrate to reduce risk of injury. Also be sure to have a secure top . Mine never climbed the glass but i found it out and about one day, Finally ..they dont need as much humidity as some say .. I alwats just keep a moist corner at the water dish. I will mist plants and walls a little if they are going into Molt Hope this helps

My MF stirmi is in an Exo Terra Habisphere, which is 18 inches, by 12 inches, by 12 inches tall. But I have no idea how that relates to gallons. I also have 2 male blondi's & I keep those in Exo Terra PT2310 large flat faunariums. And a couple who like to burrow are in similar base sized, but deeper enclosures.
