I think it works a little different with nature. I can't really come up with a similar example, as humans do not produce silk or any similar substances. If a spider got stuck in its own web, then that would be a pretty big problem for the species as a whole. I'll try to do some digging on the internet, but I recall reading that spiders can't get stuck in their own silk.One tarantula having an accident isn't going to endanger all Ts. That's like saying that because one person gets run over by a bus all humankind will become extinct.
