G. pulchra sling hasn't molted yet

I purchased a B. smithi sling in Jan, and three other slings at end of March, one being the G. pulchra. The other three have molted several times. I also bought a C. cyaneopubescens in June and it has molted.

The G. pulchra has not, is this normal? All it does is hide in its burrow and eats when a bug gets down there.

yep that's normal. G. pulchra is the most frustrating of all my slings when it comes to molting they have the longest premolt i've seen yet, even longer than the G. rosea. How big is your G. pulchra?

I got my g.pulchra, approx 1.5" on 3rd january this year and its not molted yet. Hardly eats and just stays in its burrow lol. Typical grammostola, long fasts and long pre molts so you never know if its going to molt or just isnt hungry lol.

Ah. Glad to know nothing is wrong. I bought my G. rosea in 1998 almost full grown, so no idea how she was as a sling. The only other grammostolas I've had are the G. pulchripes, both slings, and they seem to grow fairly fast.

Thank you both. :)

mine molted like that this last time too. It's almost like they're testing themselves ;) i was concerned he had enough room in his burrow, they seem to be great contortionists.
Testing me I think!!!!! Lol. Hope all ok. Had enough trauma today. My big Genic escaped last night. Found her under my bed this morning!

another escape?
I know. I am slacking.....lol. totally surprised that such a big spider could escape. I had a feeding flap that I had an extra screw attached so that there would be no escapes. Never once did I think leaving it open and a big 8 inch geniculata could hang upside down, make its way to the centre of the tank, squeeze through the flap, climb down the racking past all the other Ts and then set up home under my bed. But she did!!!!!:). Whole new respect for her now.

almost had my genic escape during feeding last weekend, but he was chasing a cricket that jumped away from him, caught it on the top edge of the KK :) My son happened to be holding the enclosure on his lap at the time. I was quite impressed the enclosure and T didn't go flying lol it made both of us jump at his sudden burst of speed. never seen him move that fast before.
