Funny story guys! I thought I'd share it. Those of you that know me and have seen some of my other posts know that even though I'm still learning about tarantulas as I go along but I am a terrarium nut and have a growing collection. I currently have 3 frogs and a bearded dragon and of course I am also blessed with a beautiful almost 4 inch male Mexican fire-leg named October who I would say is quite a character actually (he's black and orange and he's a tarantula so he fits perfectly with Halloween hence his name.) Anyway, sometimes even my (family) collection catches me off guard at the right times. That happened this morning. Have you ever been so tired first thing in the morning that it actually makes you kind of stupid? Well I guess I woke up from some deep dream and bare in mind that I have a few cracks in my windows right now (they're old windows) that I have taped up to keep insects, especially moths which freak me the heck out, from getting in. Like I was saying I just woke up and I am really groggy or as we call it in our house groggy stupid. I lift my head off the pillow and look at the foot of the bed and I was actually startled. I was like "Holy crap that is one huge spider! How did it get in here?" And then my mind clears up and I realize it's just October crawling around the glass of his tank which is across from my bed and me being in that wakeup state of mind forgot was there since you can see the wall through the other side of it.

Every bit of wall space in my bedroom is now shelves inhabited by spiders, scorpions, whipspiders and centipedes. If I woke up like that one day, I would probably never stop screaming :D Moths freak you out? I always thought they were cool, and I'm not a fan of flying bugs. I've found a few here in south Texas that were positively huge. I should id one next time..

!!!! That sounds like one deep sleep! Haven't had that happen but I often think I see spiders out of the corner of my eye zooming about. Never had one escape on me but reading about the stories on this forum keep me thinking about it.

(Well, okay, there was that one incident with the scorpion sling but luckily it was found before I was kicked out of the house but I generally don't speak of such things !).

Oh wow at least they don't get out too often I would imagine, especially those hair kickers lol.
Oh some moths like luna moths are cool alright so long as they don't enter my house but the rest are little furry hellspawns that grow as big as cicadas and flutter like hummingbirds with paper like wings, horrific bulging eyes and those feather like antenna. Ironic enough is that I love butterflies (didn't always.)

Next time I see a big moth in my house I'm having my dad catch it and put it in with my bearded dragon who will make short work of it. (shudders)

Yeah if he actually had gotten out of his tank I don't really know what I would do. He moves fast and as he's still growing he doesn't let me touch him yet. I hope he never gets out. In fact when he finally lets me handle him I'm doing it over a box in case he decides to bolt.
