Hey guys really upset here . I’ve had my pink salmon sling about a month he’s been doing good until I dropped his tank a few days ago, he’s hardly moving now , I fear he’s ruptured his abdomen , does anyone know if he will recover or will he not survive, so angry at myself

I do not see any rupture on the top abdomen. I would inspect underneath. If you do spot a rupture you can use cornstarch to seal it.

Hopefully another more experienced member can answer this especially on using cornstarch.

Being a sling it may not have done much damage but would keep an eye on it. Also looking like it's in pre moult so wont be moving around as much

That abdomen is really large and if ruptured I would expect to be 'deflated' looking. Unless there are sharp objects in the enclosure, chances are the coco fibre would have cushioned the fall anyway.

With the size of that butt, likely going to go in premoult which could explain lethargy?

If you do find a rupture, the best way to deal with it in my experience is to dust the wound with cornflour. Super glue is often mentioned but I find that an extreme measure and I have even had spiders go to flick off superglues and end up with a leg stuck to their abdomen as a result. Cornflour is as effective as stemming and fluids and nowhere near as extreme as super glue. Some reptile shops have even tried to glue a leg back on.
..idiots not even realising that it is a hydraulic pumping action that makes legs move and they have blocked the flow of the fluid to the leg. Shocking! :(

Hopefully the little guy/gal is ok. Do you notice any kind of fluid leaking from the abdomen? I don’t see anything from the picture but that’s something to keep an eye out for.
Like others said, that abdomen is pretty large so it might be premolt. However, I can say if someone dropped my house I probably wouldn’t move around too much either for a little while.
Good luck! Keep us updated.

Looks to be in premolt. Abdomen is quite big. That will make them not active. Don’t think has a ruptured abdomen with the size it is. It would be deflated/deflating is that was the case. Ive dropped enclosures before. It’s mainly been the 5.5oz cups i keep the slings in. But I think your T is ok.
