My partner decided to play the part of the tarantula fairy this weekend while I was away, and surprised me with 5 Ts (yes, I'm a lucky girl!). Now, while I absolutely love this, and will never do anything to discourage this behavior, he's not good about asking critical questions. One being, the scientific names when given a common name. Two of the Ts are Chilobrachys, but with the research I've found, I'm afraid I got myself a bit confused.
He was told one of them is a Chilobrachys sp. Kaeng Krackan, and the other Vietnamese Blue. So, as I'm combing through all the Google searches on both, I'm finding conflicting information. I'm seeing the Vietnamese Blue is C. dyscolus, but colorform blue? Then there are some who say the Kaeng Krackan is really a C. dyscolus? Is there anyone here who can help me sort this out?
I know how to keep them, as I've done some research on the Chilobrachys sp, Black Satan (top on my wishlist!), but want to properly label them for my own records. Maybe I made this more confusing than what it really is.
