i've had a Chilean Rose tarantula for around 7 years now, she's probably a little older than that, maybe 1 or 2 years older.

today, she's started to gnaw and bite things in her tank, i've never seen her do this before and i'm a little worried.

nothing has changed in the tank, she's got a few crickets in there, water bowl is full.

As they get older the less frequently they molt and Rosie's seem to take the longest in premolt stage. Mine average 18-24 months between molts, I have teenagers and one at 20+ years. The old girl becomes tenacious at times, but I still love her. Lol!!

Is it possible she's been doing this occasionally without you seeing it? I've never seen mine doing anything like that, but I've heard of them chewing on fake plants and stuff before. From what I can gather it can be a sign of stress but isn't a huge deal.

i be in the same room as her for around 12 hours of the day! that's why i was a little concerned at her odd behavior, it's the first time i've ever seen/heard her doing it, she hasn't done it since.
