Hallo forum!

I was wondering if any kind forumite could shed some light as to what the heck this is?

He fell out of a bunch of bananas from Panama. The local reptile shop told us he was a 'Pumpkin Patch tarantula' (Hapolopus sp Colombia) but we don't think so. Someone on Twitter suggested Hapolopus coloratus (Metriopelma coloratum as was)

Can anyone shed any light? Gender would be cool too if you can, and if there any keeping tips beyond the usual (I'm doing research right now, I'd love to keep him) I'd be grateful to know

Thank you kindly!

Yup, looks like H coloratus. We can't tell the sex unless you have a pic of its ventral side between its booklungs or a molt. I'm guessing their care would be more or less the same as H columbia, but I'm not so sure.
Hapalopus coloratus, previously Metriopelma coloratum, is most likely what you have as @Tarantulafeets suggested. I would keep like Hapalopus sp Colombia/H. formosus.

Hopefully she is female and gravid. These are rare in the US hobby. You basically hit the tarantula lottery there, lol.

I would love to see more pics!
