Hi guys... Recently I just rehousing my supposed-to-be burrower Javanensis. It hide only one time..
It doesn't want to dig. Stay on top of the peat.
In the last enclo, it dug the tunnels on the first night.
Its already the third night but well, no changes.
It does ate the worms that I threw and webbed the moss.
Is that ok? Should I worry about this behaviour??

No don't worry: the burrowers like your T sometimes need time to settle down before digging. Some of my Haplopelma or Orphnaecus have took weeks before burrowing. You should leave her alone so that she's secured enough to start work. Maybe you shouldn't give her food for the next week or two weeks if she's plump enough: if worms aren't all around, it could help her to focus on managing her home.

One more thing: check that the substrate isn't too dry nor too moist. Your sp. will like it moist, but not damp.

Weeelll, definitely not damp. Only a little bit moist. Not even make it to the point of moist. I only put 5 spoonfull of water and mix. Did put wet moss on top.
Last enclo was totally dry. I only sprayed the topside of the peat...

I will wait till next week. I hope it goes down I dont want to make it feel stressed up there..
I've put worms because the last 2 weeks I didn't feed it. I thought it might be hungry..

that still may be a bit moist. if you can mix up that substrate again and test it. Just squeeze it and if you get any moisture coming out it's too moist. You just want enough moisture in the substrate for it to hold shape.

There wont be any moisture at all to be squeezed, since I can blow the peat from my hands easily and freely.
I hope its just like what was said on earlier post, that it just need time to get to know its new house...
Can only check it again on Friday. :(

Checked!!!
Well, It made a tunnel down the side of the jar since I put a clear plastic cup in the middle. Lolz.
My javan look healthy and fine.
I threw 2 dead-ish small mealworms for dinner. After an hour, my T ate both, but now it stayed up again.
Idk why my T like to stay up. Hope it just feel like want to have afternoon walk around before go down again and construct a better tunnel system.. Lol

Really want to have a terrestrial like pulchra / an albopilosum. :(

after spraying the peat in the afternoon, late night, my Javan went out to check the situation and condition.
it stayed up almost all night, checking, moving along and up, and webbing.

I want to know something, was my Spider too fat already?
