I got kellog all natural soil, did the oven part to kill pesticides. It still smells like manure is that unsafe for a California ebony. He also hasn't tried to burrow just been crawling around. Want to change it asap if not safe. Thanks for any feedback I'm a newbie

Your sub should not contain manuure. Don't think it should smell like ka,ka. I have used Terra Arenea , Creature soil and big name branded soils and they smell earthy not like pool.lol. If your sub smells bad I would change it. The oven bake won't remove poo and very doubt it would break down pesticides. You just have cooked pooo and poison. Hope this helps. Happy Spoodering!

Creature-brand soil has served me well and can be found cheap if you look around. My A. geniculata burrowed in it and it hasn't caused any issues.
