So it's been a good while since I've posted about my 5x communal that is now a 4x communal.
This definitely sounds like it's bad news for the pro communal People, but, it's not.
What it is, is my bad husbandry.
So my communal, starting with tiny 1cm slings (since starting it and researching a lot I have since found that this is not how to do it, make sure you're slings are sac mates and over 1 inch or 2.5cm) thanks to a person I know who has been keeping these communally since 2013, said person is also working on a book all about Balfouri communal, don't worry as soon as I get an update on the book I will let yous all know.
Apart from me doing that, I kept it very arid in the enclosure and didn't use water dishes for the majority of my slings, same went for these guys, that's where the bad husbandry comes into it. The poor sling that passed done exactly that, it passed away, it never got eaten, it never got out competed for food and it never got eaten by it's siblings, it died from dehydration and totally my fault, the water dishes that are in there now are completely webbed up. So now I mist the web castle once a week roughly which is there only source of water apart from feeders. This does seem to be sufficient, even as slings these guys generally avoid moisture.
So yeah it's bad news for the communal but it definitely does not in any way hint at Balfouri not being communal, they definitely are and it's just stupid keepers like myself that make mistakes.

Yes they are set up as arboreal, they have absolutely no interest in burrowing.
