Arboreal feeding?

I just got my first arboreal specie's tarantula (Caribena Versicolor) and its a baby. So far i have only had terrestrial T's and when i feed them i place the food at the entrance of the burrow or they take it from me directly. I am really not sure how to approach feeding a tree dweller. Do i place it in their web? Do i hold it in front of them? I don't feel very comfortable leaving the live prey in with the baby yet. What is the best method of feeding a tree dwelling T?

When my old female was a sling, she wouldn't come down to hunt on the ground. I had her in one of the Amac boxes, and I would take the cap off, lay it on its side, and place a maimed red rubber nymph at the mouth of her web tube. She would usually run out to get it. After a while, she would actually be waiting at the mouth of the web for food when I flipped the lid over. It was quite cute. She eventually extended her web more towards the bottom of the dirt and started hunting the ones on the ground. Her daughter also did the same thing for a while. I just mention this because there are cases where they won't come down to hunt and need the food brought to them.

That also had been my predominant experience with avics so far, but like everything else in life, there are exceptions to that and I now have avics that hunt and from water dishes and jump to snag prey

I just mention it as I've seen folks on other boards tell people that they will always find it on the ground, and there are those exceptions.

Bahahaha! It's the bane of my existence. And mine learns my habits, so it's always trying to correct words that begin with 'f' with...well, you can figure it out.
Foxtrot, probably

I have avics that go to ground more than I am comfortable with because I was originally told "the last place you want to see an avic is on the ground"

Now I just figure the spider knows that to do, as long as I do my part with the husbandry
