Arachnosys

Had anybody seen Arachnosys enclosures? They're acrylic, but they use polycarbonate doors to prevent warping, and they also use stainless steel nuts and bolts. They're made by tarantula keepers. They're like the European answer to Tarantula Cribs. I sound like a shill, but I've been researching enclosures for a while, looking for the best ones, and these seem amazing. I am only talking about it because Arachnosys seems to go under the radar and not many people know about them.

I love the SL range.

I would take a look at.. https://www.theplasticpeople.co.uk/blog/polycarbonate-vs-acrylic/

Acrylic is typically a more rigid plastic, whereas polycarbonate can be purchased in various flexible grades.

For a T enclosure, I am not sure acrylic offers any real disadvantage over polycarbonate. And acrylic is slightly cheaper.

As for stainless steel nuts & bolts. Outside applications like car exhausts. Where paying the extra for Stainless steel makes good sense. Again, I am not sure that tarantula enclosures gain anything by it's use. I have never heard anyone say a certain brand is excellent. But it's a shame about the lack of stainless steel nuts & bolts.

I have a variety of enclosures. Glass, acrylic, plastic. Several designs in each & I am not sure that any has a big advantage over another, beyond personal choice. I have some lovely glass enclosures but they are heavy. I have some very usable plastic enclosures. Plastic is cheaper & much less robust than glass.

Our T's have no idea what the enclosures are made of. They simply have a good environment to live in or not.
