Apparently, C. Versicolors Are Hard To Find Currently!

I have been asking around to my local suppliers of tarantulas and none of a c. versicolor. They have avic avic, but no versicolors. I was able to find two online, but it's hard to justify to her spending over $130 for a spider with shipping.

My local suppliers don't even have an idea of when they'll be getting more stock in. One has been trying for a couple months now apparently.

I have a 3" female for $200 plus shipping if interested. Unless you're looking for slings, in which case I don't have any at the moment.

Yeah, if I cannot justify $130, there's no way I can justify $200 plus shipping, even for a confirmed female. She doesn't care about confirmed vs. not confirmed. It's a spider and that's all she sees.

backwater has a bad reputation but you can if u want
My first tarantula was ordered from Backwater. No one else had what I wanted and I didn't really know better. She arrived ok but was just shipped loose in deli container with some moist soil. I am surprised she wasn't crushed! (To be clear, the deli container was in a box with a heat pack and newspapers to cushion the deli container but still.)

Ok then. So are you considering to buy the versicolor from backwater?

The Worse place to recommend anyone to purchase from. 1000s of dead spiders and wrong shipments.

Ordered a spider many years ago just to see if the hype was correct. They shipped me a Brachypelma hamorii in a deli cup half full of substrate. The poor spider rolled around in that container for 3 days from Florida to Oregon. Plus I recieved two dead slings and a versicolor with nematodes. It later died a horrible death.

To top it off...no refund or response

The feedback is greatly appreciated. I am sorry you had this horrible experience but the good coming out of it is that you will help prevent many people on the forum from buying what seems to be a horrible place.
