Added an Aphonopelma Seemanni, and a Davus Pentaloris to my collection today. Anyone have any advice on either species that they want to share?
Awesome, thank you for letting me knowNice, I love my A seemanni.
I have her on a little over 7 inches substrate, moist to begin with, now just keeping the bottom moist. First month I had her she didn't burrow past the little one I pre started, after that month....pretty fossorial.
Good luck!
I gave my A seemanni sub-adult 8 inches of terra aranea thinking s/he would like to dig down deep with cork and a starter burrow. S/he dug down about 3 inches but spends most of her time topside feeling up the plantsmin
I have my A. Seemanni on about 4 inches right now. If he starts to burrow I'll add more. I've seen a lot of mixed conversation about whether they burrow or not so I'm gonna let him tell me what he wants to do lol. But as of right now he's just hanging out on his leaves as well. He likes to make a mess of his water bowl though lol I've already changed it twice since I got him yesterday.I gave my A seemanni sub-adult 8 inches of terra aranea thinking s/he would like to dig down deep with cork and a starter burrow. Thank you. She's not wanting to let me get good pictures at all right now lol. She has a hide partially buried, but she's chosen to make a little burrow on top of the hide that her abdomen sticks out off lol. She would not win a game of hide and seek.Congratulations on the male seemanii (hard to come by). The pentaloris is a little blurry but kinda appears to be female.
I have 2 Davus Pentaloris' , one tends to burrow and the other is pretty much always on top of its web in the open. Both are prolific webbers and are constantly webbing up their water dish. They are both a bit skittish but I've never had one bolt out of the enclosure , they always look to hide first if disturbed. I have had one kick hairs at me while giving them water but never have either one giving a threat posture or anything close. Overall they are pretty amazing and I really enjoy seeing what they do in their enclosures.Added an Aphonopelma Seemanni, and a Davus Pentaloris to my collection today. Okay, I'm gonna put some more plants and stuff in her enclosure to give her more webbing points.
