I don't even live in the states but it's still scary! If this gets passed canada probably won't be far behind.
It's frustrating enough not being aloud non native roaches or millipedes and in my provinces rats...
I'm looking to make my tiny collection of 9 Ts, 3 scorpions and 4 isopod bins look like part of my decor while also keeping it safe from my cats. I'm thinking of maybe trying the billy bookcase with glass doors but I'm not sure if that's going to have enough ventilation. I could drill holes in...
I often forget just how many people are afraid of them sometimes to the point of hatred but every now and then you meet a fellow T keeper and it's exciting.
I got the large terrestrial a few months ago and kept my dairy cow isopods in it but now the cows got moved to make space for a Aphonopelma chalcodes I'm getting soon. I like how perfectly it fits on my shelf but it's a lot of money for something that's kinda flimsy and I'm worried how it will...
Could you maybe contact the company about the missing lock? Maybe they will send you one. I too am disappointed in the quality but it fits my shelf so perfectly... I think I'm going to go with exo terra breeding boxes instead but I'm still undecided.
Well I talked to a neighbor and it is from the humidifier... I never had that problem as I used to live somewhere with much softer water but I guess I now have to use purified water or something. Uhhhh this is so annoying!
It's a bit more powdery looking then condensation, I'm wondering if it's calcium because the water here is very very hard. Just seems odd it's on the outside instead of the inside.
So I just started getting this weird white film on my exo terra breeding boxes and zilla micro habitat. It's not a scratch since I can easily wipe it off with a clean microfiber cloth but after a few minutes it comes back. It's on both the dry and humid enclosures so I don't think its humidity...
Honestly I'm not really sure what she was getting at but I think she thought that I could get bit and it would kill me before I could get help or something. I didn't think they are THAT extreme but I wanted to hear from other keepers before trying to explain that to her. She thought that the...
Thanks! You explained it very well. I always wondered what that actually ment other then something a beginner shouldn't start with and a bite is much more serious. I struggled to explain it to my sister since I didn't have a clear answer to what that ment and I don't want to ether down play or...
Yeah I agree theres a lot of hype and fear around it. I'm not one to handle my Ts and I have a healthy respect for them old or new world but because of that world "medically significant" my sister thinks if I ever was to get one I could potentially get bit and die before I could get help...
I agree but you can also say living alone with a dog is dangerous but it's not enough to say never do it but yes don't live alone with a tiger that's maybe too dangerous. Correct me if I'm wrong but i don't think tarantulas of any kind need two people in the room with just in case of the slim...
That's my thoughts like when I feel I am ready to add them to my collection I will be responsible and careful about it. I don't think the risks to a responsible and experienced keeper are enough to not get one just because you live alone. I think she hears medically significant and thinks that...
