You really don't have to separate them. I just like to keep my adults by themselves because they need more heat and I feed them oranges to promote breading.
I raise superworms for my daughters bearded dragon and that will only turn to beetles when they are by themselves. It will probable morph and emerge as a beetle as long as it doesn't have food. As mentioned above, crush their head before putting them in with your T.
