What is the size of the box and your heat mat wattage? Want to compare it to our heat mat.

How do you measure your heat gradient? What size is the box? We placed the heat mat on the inside of a plastic storage box and it didn't increase heat at all. The only heat was where the heat mat was. What wattage and size was that heat mat?

What is your temp gradient? What is the temp by the heat mat then away from it and to the furtherest point?

The corn and royal python as well as the crested gecko are on deep heat protector lamps. I just walked downstairs and took the infrared gun and while I wasn't able to measure the ambient temp in the terrarium the adult would live in I was able to take the heat around the terrarium and it was 12...

Ok...but..I'm struggling to wrap my head around the mat story. How would one create an ambience of 25ish using a heat mat? It won't heat the air. Only the glass will be heated.

We in the UK and it it gets cold here. When we are not in the house the temp can drop. The heating also isn't on at night. We would need to use a heat source during winter.

What would you recommend we use as a mini enclosure? Is the tub or cup that you keep the sling in not too small for a water dish?

We just checked with our heat gun and the area in the corner on top of our other snakes wooden Viv is bang on 25 degrees. If we place the cup in that area it should be warm enough?

We own snakes and a crested gecko so know the ins and outs of humidity etc. That is not to say that we know anything about caring for a spider. We are researching and learning all we can before getting anything.

Ok thanks. Yes there are vents along the bottom. Will see what the size is then will start with the cup and come back onto this forum and check I am doing it ok.
