i did a little research for things like temp, humidity, natural habitats etc and found some information saying that Tapinauchenius are the fastest genus. B. boehmei or B. emilia

I know that both tarantulas are gorgeous but I'm undecided between so I thought I'd ask on here on other peoples opinions. I am swinging towards the B boehmi because of its gorgeous red/orange legs but I'm unsure. Thank you for any replys

    B. Smithi (Hamorri) climing enclosure wall

My young B Smith (Hamorri) climbs it’s wall and is rarely on subtrate. Her substrate isn’t wet or even damp. I don’t mist of wet her enclosure at all. However there is a water dish. I understand that this species doesn’t like wet substrate. Substrate I’m using is coco fibre with something that a...

    Heat mat for crickets

Will I need a heat mat for crickets? I understand that heat mats are recommended for roaches because if you are planning on making a colony it helps with the reproduction. However if I was to have a colony of crickets so that my tarantulas food source is sustainable (also there interesting to...

How often do you feed a brachypelma smithi

Thanks for the message. I know most of what you said like the fasting etc. But the heat mat advice is something that I’ll take up. Unfortunately I live in a cold area in Britain so it can drop to like 30F at night 0 - 1C and my room tends not to be warm so I thought I should keep the heat mat...

How often do you feed a brachypelma smithi

thanks, I have a heat mat for her. I didn’t use it at first for a week but she was acting strange. She would have her legs scrunched up to her body (not curled (death curl)) as if to keep warm and ever since I’ve put the heat mat she has opened up and now walks around her enclosure confidantly...

How often do you feed a brachypelma smithi

Unsure of its age but it isn’t a adult. Probably one more molt and then a sub adult so it is very smaller. Maybe around 4 inch leg span. I’ve been trying to feed her every other day or so but she will not feed and actually avoids the cricket. I’m unsure why. The crickets are perfect for her...
