She is my favorite lady right now. A B. Vagans. Got her as a surprise freebie and almost traded her out since I had a cap of 2 tarantulas at the time. My very understanding boyfriend let me keep her. She was never in my list of must have tarantulas. Such an underrated species. She is oh so calm...
Woke up and of course I had to go check on my babies. Aaaaand saw this wee lil mushroom sprouted overnight INSIDE my baby enclosure! I baked that substrate (topsoil) prior to putting it into the enclosure!
Got her as a surprise freebie. Almost traded her off, very glad I didn't. Now she is my favorite out of all the species I have kept (8). She is so slow moving and calm, yet eat ferociously and have a voracious appetite. And damn! Very pretty coloration.
Mine were nice and slightly skittish before 2". Then they got pass that and suddenly became crazy teenagers. Must have been my parents wishing "I hope you have babies just like you!"
My B. Vagans (Phoebe) looks female but since I had never sex any T this young (1 3/4") I would love to hear more opinions on this. I'm waiting for her to molt and sex the molt as well.
We will love Phoebe (she was named such because she was a freebie) whether she is a girl or a boy. We adore her...

Hi!
I have an adult female G. Porteria (NCF "G. Rosea"). Due to the current negotiated limit with my partner of 2 tarantulas in our household, I must either trade or sell this lovely lady in order to try out other species. She is very docile, been handled a few times. She had never flicked her...
I had a long history of escaped pets. Once a giant snail hibernated in my mother's shoe. Another time, she accidentally knocked over several jars of grasshoppers and about 100 roamed the house. She's really scare of giant spiders so...my father didn't want to see whether she would go through...
I couldn't have T's when I lived with my parents.:( My mom said that if one got out, she will burn the house down. So my dad said: "Sorry honey, you can't have any T's because home insurance won't cover when your mother burn the house down" o_O
