Kovarikia savaryi 'Savaryi's rock scorpion'

Formerly considered members of pseudouroctonus, which has been split into several different genera. Lithophiles that inhabit rocky cliffs and steep hillsides in riparian habitat, and seldom ever walk on the ground.
The only Kovarikia species I've found. Would love to go out and search for more, who knows what cryptic species remain to be discovered in this genus.

Thanks for sharing,

I think we've found all the socal species, there're probably more in mexico, though.

The recent paper on Kovarikia suggests that there likely are more species that haven't been described yet however in Southern California.

Thanks,

Possibly. I haven't surveyed that area myself so I'll have to take your word for it.

Is the specimen in your photo a male or a female by the way?

Thanks,

Arthroverts
