Up until last night neither of my 2 P. murinus had shown me any of the behaviour that's typically associated with their species. I got them both at the same time from the same brood at around 0.5" each. One of them ate like a beast and has grown to just over 2" in 6 months. The other one is reclusive and is only just 1". Last night I was watering all my enclosures. For the bigger OBT (Diablo) I was dripping some water through the ventilation holes in the top of its enclosure onto its web, since water dishes don't last in there (they get turned over/webbed over etc). Diablo instantly got in the typical threat pose associated with OBTs and was going absolutely psycho attacking the water droplets: striking them, biting them, stridulating. It was both hilarious and also massively endearing at the same time. To me it’s such a charming personality. Up until its last moult it would probably have just scarpered into its burrow, but now the characteristic OBT attitude has developed and I think it’s safe to assume it’s now a certified P murinus juvenile. Just though I’d share this experience, it made my day!
