Tliltocatl albopilosus "Nicaraguan" slings

Brought these fellows in the end of last week and just got around to post them up now. They are potentially the smallest slings I've taken care of and are in tiny dram vials with substrate, starter burrows and moss.

I fed them each half a hatchling roach nymph on Saturday, which is a week past their last molt before my care. These are my Little Nicky's lol

Our very first T was a Honduran albo, so I'm making my way back into the club lol

Fed these guys today a half a frozen pinhead roach each. Yum!

Sometimes I'm glad for my delightful blend of OCD and anal retentivity. These slings are tiny and came in ampules but I made up homes in little vials as pictures above.

Well the caps of the vials have a single larger hole in the middle. Just being cautious, I decided to keep the vials in a 5.5oz snack cup with a lid and made tiny air holes in the lid with a soldering iron.

Saturday morning I went to feed these guys and just as I was about to open the snack cup, there a spider right at the lid hanging out. WTF!?!!

Opened the lid and caught the sling in a different vial and inspected the 4 vials - #1 was missing! It had slipped through the hole in the cap of the vial.

Well I went about feeding and I put number one back in his home and I put all four vials back in the snap cup with the lid and have been checking it more regularly now.

Obviously once the slings grow, either fat or molt, this will not be an issue anymore. But for now, I'm cautious before opening the lid just in case anyone else pulls a Houdini on me.

FWIW, I feed them every 3 days, half a roach nymph, and water every 2 days. They are doing great!
