I have been noticing the thrixopelma species and I would love a couple of them. I just don't see any for sale, are they rare? Does anyone have them and can tell me about their care as there is not a lot of information.

I don't know anything about them, I do think many say that they are easy to keep. Most common thrixopelma I find for sale is T. okerti. The one everybody seems to want is T. cyaneolum, but they are quite rare. I have heard good things about T. lagunas and T. cajamarca which are also uncommon. If you are in the US, pay attention to the website of the member known as @Austin S. As he would be the most likely to have eight rarities.

I have a Thrixopelma pruriens and found it quite placid. I keep it on dry coco fibre, just over flowing the water bowl occasionally. It seems to be happy to spend its time in the open. This is based purely on my experience so I can't guarantee that they will all behave this way.
I live in the UK and was lucky enough to find this one on a European site.

I have 2 Thrixopelma ockerti's a sling and a juvie.. Previous to this I had a MM.. Very pretty species, spent most of his time on his Cork bark log but active and visable(as most MMs are:) ) .. Although he was a hair flicker at every opportunity.. At the moment my juvie seems very calm natured that is always out and about too whilst the sling likes to go in its hide at times :)
