The H. gigas is from Africa as well as others of the same species, I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that this particular tarantula has noticeably larger back legs and in elongated abdomen, the other tarantulas in this species mostly have a rounded abdomen and all legs are the same size. I wonder if there is any relation between the king baboon tarantula and this particular tarantula? It's just a question and a curiosity of mine. If you look at the different types of tarantulas in that species, gigas is the only one with larger rear legs. Just something I noticed. It resembles in a way the king baboon tarantula, larger rear legs and elongated abdomen. Just my own theory and observation. I'm probably wrong, lol but I guess you never know right?
