I have 2 Orange Baboon Tarantulas. One is a mature male who wanders, taps and vibrates. The other I have not been able to sex yet. This other, unsexed spider is about the same size as my MM, but no emboli.
Their enclosures are side by side. I have observed the unsexed T tapping (with their pedipalps) in response to their neighbor's tapping.
Do young-adult tarantulas "tap?"
Or does this response (to the vibrating MM) positively indicate sexual maturity?
