Yes there amazing to keep they eat mold and uneaten food as long as the substrate is a little moist and besides if they die they die nothing to worry about

Yes, get yourself some dried yeast, give the springtails a sprinkle of yeast under the water bowl & then over flow it. Sprintails are great & thrive with a small amount of care.
