We have a fence just to the West, so it even gets minimal setting sun & it is doing fine. Over the past few months I have taken 9 spiderling mini plant growths, off it, grown them on & passed them onto someone who sells plants for charity.My understanding has always been they like light, but not direct sunlight, which i why I keep mine where  I do. For a bioactive enclosure, I would use some cheap pink & blue LED plant lights from somewhere like ebay or Amazon. It is what I use on the north facing window during the winter months.</blockquote>
