I just started this hobby a couple weeks ago and am already up to four T's. A GBB, 2xLP, and an Avicularia Avicularia. Good beginner T's I think most would agree. Yesterday, I found an amazing package deal with five more T's. All NW terrestrial beginners like a B. Hamorii, and a couple B. albopilosums. The thing that has me concerned is this package also comes with a 4"+ P. regalis. Holy crap! Not sure what I am going to do with this thing or how to handle it but I have to be honest in that my anxiety is way up and this thing hasn't even shipped. For all I know, this could be the coolest T ever but at my level of experience, I don't think it is something I should be messing with it. Think I am going to have to wear welding gloves just to feed it. But, given their reputation, I'm not even sure that will help. Not sure if I should sell it, write back and tell the guy to keep it, or employ the trial by fire method of learning to deal with an OW arboreal with a nasty disposition and the propensity to send me straight to the ER. Any advice on dealing with this monster would be appreciated.

The addiction has definitely got you. :D
My first tip is to stop panicking. When it arrives it will no doubt be in a container that will fit inside it new home so the easiest way is to place it straight in and then remove the lid, shut the door/lid and leave it to find it's own way out.
A pair of long tongs are useful to have for regular maintenance.
Another habit I found was to put the food in a small vial so you can open the Ts home the minimum amount, tip the food in and your done.
Remember not all Ts are out to get you, most will run away rather than attack. Keep your movements slow so you don't spook them and I'm sure you'll be fine.

To be honest, I don't even know how it happened. All I wanted was a cool office pet that didn't take up much space and didn't require much maintenance. Next thing you know, I've got a whole Tupperware zoo in my office. The boss is going to be pissed if ever she finds out. Might have to get a doctors note and declare them all emotional support tarantulas.

When that P. Regalis comes in, it will get all the respect in the world from me. I have no intent on ever trying to handle it. To be honest, I have no desire to handle any of my T's. I'm fine just looking at them without putting them at risk.

I do have a good set of tongs and some feeding tubes that came with the cricket keeper. Going out shopping today for an arboreal enclosure for the new beast. Happy wife, happy life. Happy T, don't eat me. LOL.
