Slings burrow, primarily for their own safety, it just feels comfortable for them. If the comfort they feel underground outweighs their hunger they’ll stay down there and not risk becoming prey themselves. I have a nhandu chromatus sling that has spent all but 2 days over the last 3 months burrowed away. The first night I saw her out I threw in a worm and haven’t really seen her since. She’s molted and everything under there. It can be frustrating for the keeper but the spider is doing exactly what it wants.</p></blockquote><p></p>
