I have a Puerto Rican pinktoe and it has been acting oddly. I am unsure of the sex or age but it is in the browish stage. Anyway, it has recently started semi-burrowing and hiding in this shallow burrow almost always. Today i coaxed her out of it and she was clutching what seems to be a small egg sac. It is a ball about the size of a dime. I have not mated her or had her in contact with any other spiders. If she is indeed a mature female, is making an egg sac without mating normal behavior? or is it even an egg sac? She was very fat bellied and i was expecting a molt. now she has a tiny sized abdomina l with no molt.
