Well it's definitely a sign of it kicking hairs.

It doesn’t have to kick hairs at you, it could be kicking at things like, an unwanted feeder insect , it could be just marking its territory by laying its hairs all over its home, maybe it’s stressed. Things to consider if it is going into premolt are, is it staying in its burrow a lot more than often, a dark shiny abdomen, it’s refusing food, and many more I can’t think of right now
