Personally, I feed all of my slings beheaded mealworms & as they grow, I then move onto live crickets. As long as you use a cricket which is smaller than your T & as long as you remove uneaten crickets after 24 hours & do not leave a cricket in with a molting T. Then no harm will come to your T. Personally, I buy 4 sizes of cricket. The sizing at my local supplier are small, medium, standard & Extra Large. And I buy blacks, which tend to be bulkier, except on the small, where I use brown, as I want them for larger slings & small juvies. I have tried roaches. I had a colony of Dubia & I keep Giant Hissing & Peppered. But I found lots of mine did not eat them. And if feeding roaches, don't forget to crush their heads, as otherwise they burrow & do not get eaten. Place roaches in on their backs for best feeding responses, as like that, their legs move rapidly. But a roach will survive for a day or two with ease with a crushed head.
