Not eating long after molt

I have a 20 year old female orange knee that I'm getting kind of worried about due to her still not eating about a month after molting. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced their tarantula not eating this long after the molt. I was at work during the molt so didn't get to see it in it's entirety and my wife removed the molt from the tank before I could get a look at it but as far as I can tell she came out ok except for a single deformity on one rear leg. Just worried because it's never been this long after the molt before she ate. Thanks in advance for any input

Brachypelmas are known for going periods without eating. A month is not very long. Just keep an eye on her, try different sizes of food. Sometimes smaller food gets a better feeding response with reluctant eaters.

I've got a few Brachypelma, Tliltocatl and Grammostola females that are near or well over 20 years old. After molting it maybe many months before they eat. I have seen them drink though. If you still have the molt you can check this out for reassurance.

Update: the tarantula has died. She drank lots of water but still wouldn't eat. She made it about 6 months and died with crickets in the tank.
Very sorry for your loss my friend. If you have other Ts, this might be a good time to introduce yourself in the "Introductions" thread and share some pictures of them with us.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It really sounds like a sucking stomach problem that occurred on her previous molt. When this happens it appears as if they are drinking lots but they’re really not drinking at all. The only thing you can due is hope they make it to molt again to fix any problems they had. Unfortunately she was older and her molt cycles are so far apart it could be years before the next molt. At least she was with a caring individual who kept her comfortable. Truly sorry for your loss.

This spider lived for six months after the molt and drank occasionally, to my understanding sucking stomach deaths usually come as if they are drowning in the water bowl because they need water so badly, none of this happened with my spider. I think she simply died of old age. Unfortunately they can't live forever
