I have always been fascinated with spiders and other bugs (though a lot more things that gross me out are the really gross bugs), reptiles, and most pets to be honest. Not a hermit crab guy though.. In the place I am living at there are no pets save one rule- they have to be in glass enclosures more or less. So there's no dogs or cats, and can't have things like rabbits or hamsters because those need open cages and honestly don't belong in an empty aquarium tank. Right now I have a betta fish because that is allowed, though I can't have a large tank. The maximum limit is 20 gallons, and right now the betta is in a 10g. I have an empty 20g long I plan on using for axolotls, and the betta will be moved into a 5 gallon. Yeah I will be a few gallons over but because of the contents of the tank they won't be exactly full, so I'd say I'd be 3 gallons over at most between the two.. I am also a college student and an Marine Science major so I don't think they'd be too picky. However, I will have an empty 10 gallon, and since I have reached my maximum capacity for water I will have something without it: a terrarium for a tarantula.
I have been poking around the internet and learning things about caring for them, and I have gotten all of my roommates permission. I want to continue to research and learn more, but I would like to make sure I am learning for the specific tarantula I would want, which is the Chile Gold Burst. I have researched about the care for the species but I would like to learn more for this spider, but I cannot seem to find good resources for this one. I am trying to plan a setup but need to have this spiders specific needs in mind. And that is what brought me here!
