Yeah, unfortunately, having tarantulas again reminded me that I also used to love plants. I used to have quite the butterfly garden outside, but, spouse kept 'accidentally' mowing it. I bought a few houseplants to use in tarantulas enclosures and that's been a slippery slope into a houseplant problem.. lol It turns out there's fancy ones that are crazy expensive, not just Lowe's houseplants.. lol You know, then it also turns out you need a macro lens now and so on. I'm trying to come up with a reasonable hobby budget after being pretty spend-happy the last couple months. In my defense, I spent the last several years finishing a BS degree and moving straight into a grad degree while working fulltime and spent no hobby money during that time. With what I do, there are some periodic gigs here and there I could take reviewing university materials, so, I finally quit being lazy and signed up. I figure maybe the gig money will be my hobby money to sort of keep a handle on it. Good luck finishing your boat! I have some family members refurbing a sailboat right now. I tried to convince spouse to move far enough north to be out of gator range. Unfortunately, my style of boating is a 5 AM kayak paddle- but, tired of bumping gators, the stress will kill me.. lol I don't mind all the water snakes and so on, but, I'm never kayaking in Florida again. You don't know if it's something lovely like a manatee playing with your kayak or an alligator. I live half a mile from a boat ramp on the St Johns river, so probably should just get into bigger boats, but, I'm definitely done kayaking/canoeing here.
