But it appears that there's a white "smudge" near the top, rear of the tarantula's prosoma. There is no mouth there. The mouth is on the bottom-front of the prosoma, usually hidden between and under the chelicerae and fangs.I agree with the others, it looks like feces. But if that's true we must somehow explain how it got it on top and way far forward (half a body length) from its anus!A better photo might be helpful.Until then, your guess is as good as mine!</blockquote>
