There seems to be many differing opinions on how this species should be kept. I have been told and have read from a variety of people that they keep their Sp Blue on dry substrate with a full water dish. Others say they require high humidity and moist substrate, but are often times referring to the Xenesthis species in general. I have a nice video here where the Xenesthis Sp Blue is observed in it's natural habit and again, it is stated to keep this species dry. Dry, humid, dry, humid. Like seriously. I was recently told by somone with a 2 inch Sp Blue that theirs was doing well on dry substrate. Any experience?

I don't keep this sp but have researched it.

They are opportunistic burrowers. As slings they burrow more and will appreciate damp substrate. As adults drier substrate with a good size water dish and plan to overflow it once a month then let the substrate dry out. In the CA winter where it gets really dry maybe overflow every 2 week. Keep X. sp. Blue in a larger enclosure with a cork bark hide and foliage to simulate a Venezuelan jungle environment.

Good basics

Some say theirs are big hair kickers. Good find and enjoy!
