The T would probably be hiding from your pets, but I would worry about them getting inquisitive/trying to hunt the T, as it might try to defend itself, especially if it's a more aggressive species. My best advice is to clean your home the best you can, pick up everything off the floor, don't give it any place to hide in that respect. It will probably be looking for someplace dark. Without knowing if it's an arboreal species or not, it's hard to say just where it would be likely to hide. I wish you luck in your search!
