Hi! So I have not been on this wonderful forum for a long time and I totally feel like a newbie member again. I joined in November. Although I am still a newbie to the hobby. I have had a G. Rosea for almost a year now. But today it finally happened. The thing that everyone who has tarantulas says... I got another one. I now have an Avic Avic. Now witnessing first hand how truly different each species can be is fascinating! My Rose, named Octavia, was older when I got her, always had a fantastic appetite and has never been "moody" with me. Never flicked hairs, never threw a threat posture, she's a chill as a cucumber. My pink toe, too young to tell but I'm pretending it's a girl so I named it Cordelia, also seems to be docile. But boy is it friggin fast! I was not handling her but simply putting her into her new home and I was so surprised. I knew about arboreal species but actually having a T that's up high on the walls or on the plants is so different! I do have a few questions though, as I have been hearing different things. So true or false me here: 1. The Avic needs a higher humidity so I should mist her often. (I don't mist the Rose). 2. They don't have uricating hairs so instead they can defecate on you. 3. They can be communal and kept with others of the same species. Alright that's all for my little tangent. I included a picture of course! Have a good night!
