I think it works a little different with nature. I can't really come up with a similar example, as humans do not produce silk or any similar substances. If a spider got stuck in its own web, then that would be a pretty big problem for the species as a whole. I'll try to do some digging on the internet, but I recall reading that spiders can't get stuck in their own silk.Here ya go.
