I like to know that my tarantulas can get to water whenever the mood strikes them. Also, the dish will help with the humidity levels. Again, this is just me. Usually the humidity level in our homes is enough for most of our tarantulas to molt just fine.  I live in Southern CA so sometimes it is harder for me to get the humidity where it needs to be. If you are concerned you can always cover part of your cage lid to help.</blockquote>
