I had this happen twice. Found it both times Once on a wall 2nd on The shelf beneath. Things to keep in mind is how long has it been missing. Or b smithi I new was within the last 2 hours. We're the lites on or off. Tarantulas don't like a lot of lite. It was pretty bright when the sling crawled out of our enclosure which is why it stayed in the shelf it lives in. That's how I found our b smithi the 2nd time it escaped when it wasn't hiding in plane view. I would look under books and other objects that would provide a dark area in the immediate vicinity of its enclosure. Be careful not to accidentally crush it. The 1st time it was pitch black when it escaped, found it in another room on the wall.
