Did I get a tarantula I did not order?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum. Here's my question, I ordered 2 Mexican Redknee Tarantulas and I received 2 little baby ones. They are growing and healthy and still under quarter size, but they don't look like Mexican Redknees. They are bright blue when they molt and then they just like a dark blue the rest of the time. They are also very quick and like to dig under the soil and have made small webs they hide in.

Does this sound like Mexican Redknees to you?

Thanks in advance.

its super hard to tell what they are at this size but the fact they are blue is a good inducation, now this is just a guess but im thinking it could be a
Pterinopelma sazimai

I have heard a lot of bad things about Backwater Reptiles sending the wrong animal or the animal arriving dead :( at least you know you are giving them a great new home with someone who cares about them. Best of luck!!

I've got a small B. smithi right now too, and it looks nothing like that. The body is kind of a tannish color, the abdomen is just starting to turn black, and when it molts you can see the red knees really clearly.

No way a vendor/ breeder would sell P. sazimai as b. smithi. The price difference between the two is pretty substantial. If this were the case, you would be an extremely lucky person!

wait for a few molts there are a lot of sp that closely resemble each other as slings that small. as far as being a b. smithi its defiantly not that

The problem with that is that what he got may be worth a lot less than the B smithi he paid for. Then again, it might be worth more (unlikely though).

Are B. Smithi's more docile when young, also? This one loves to run and burry it's head in the dirt when I open the lid sometimes.
