I woke up this morning to find my Theraphosa stirmi (burgundy Goliath bird eater) in death curl. A week before my cat got into the tarantula enclosure and chased him out, I found him In my living room around 25 feet away, there were no ruptures or hemolymph so I thought he was fine with nothing but trauma. But oh boy was I wrong, a few days later he started bleeding only on his leg joints so I started to get excited and was preparing for a molt, he went to his burrow and stayed there. We left for a couple of days only when we came home he was in the burrow and I thought he was grooming himself, the next morning (today) he was still in the same position so I took him out, no movement and he was in full on death curl. He was my favorite tarantula and I couldn’t stop crying for a couple of hours. Everybody thought I was weird for crying over a spider, they wouldnt get it, but you guys will. I buried him by a tree and said my last goodbyes to the best pet I’ve ever owned R.I.P. my beloved pet :’(
