Message: <blockquote data-quote="Bast" data-source="post: 3793" data-attributes="member: 379">I know it's kind of backwards, I have no issue with putting my hands in spider tanks, but I cannot for the life of me bring myself to touch a cricket.  It wasn't really an issue when I only had Karina, because I was just buying enough for her to eat in a single serving, so I could just dump the bag in her enclosure and shut the lid.  Still wouldn't be an issue with the rosie since they eat different sizes they come in a different bag.   My issue comes with the little OBT.  Since I can't open the enclosure the whole way without risking an escape, that means I can't dump the crickets in.  That leaves me with touching the gross critters...or putting them in via tongs.  However, I always end up squishing them too hard, or they get loose and I have to chase them down.  This is from the experience I had with my Leo's and trying to fit a cricket in with the obt last night before I realized how big her abdomen already was (she ended up eating the dead one anyhow lol).  Maybe it's just trial and error on the amount of pressure I'm using and getting used to holding the lid open at the same time.  Considered switching to meal worms, but would rather use crix for the moisture content. I just know that no amount of exposure to crickets seems to relieve me of my inability to want to touch them in any way lol.</blockquote>
